I’ve been a bonfire boy for over 25 years and have been a member of a number of societies where I have held different roles such as vice chairman and captain of fire banners, I’ve learnt a huge amount over the years and have always actively put myself forward and assisted with a wide variety of the tasks that are required to run a successful bonfire society, from torch making to bonfire building and of course fundraising, which is where I find myself now as captain of fundraising for Chiddingly Parish Bonfire Society.

This is my second year in this role after previously holding the post of Chairman from the societies reformation in 2020, after a successful year of fundraising in 2023 I was re-elected to the role of Captain of fundraising and now have the task of ensuring this year’s fundraising program generates the funds we need to put in our bonfire night in 2024, after the success of a number of last year’s fundraisers we will be bringing those back again in 2024 and making them bigger and better than last year, I have also got plans in mind for some new events for this year, fundraising is an essential part of any society and without it we can’t bring our spectacular bonfire night to the parish , if you would like to get involved with fundraising or have any ideas please email me at [email protected] all help will be hugely appreciated.
