Jacob 'Jake' Thorpe
|
He joined Chiddingly Parish Bonfire Society at the end of 2021 and was very quickly co-opted into the role of Commander-in-Chief to help coordinate the society's first annual celebration in 2022. After the huge success of 2022, Jake was elected as Chairman for 2023, a position he is still very proud to currently hold.
Alongside bonfire, Jake has been a successful freelance Events Manager for many years, working in senior positions on some of the largest events in the UK, such as England's Medieval Festival and The Commonwealth Games in 2022, and most recently led on operations for the Coronation of King Charles III, The Infected Bloody Inquiry, The Offies Awards 2025 and ITV's Katy Perry: Night of a Lifetime through his current position as Head of Event Operations at a large & prestigious venue in Westminster, London. Jake has been astounded at how quickly Chiddingly Parish Bonfire Society has grown and developed into a positive asset to the community of Chiddingly & Muddles Green, and hopes that through continued work with local authorities and other bodies such as the Sussex Bonfire Council, as well as local charities and businesses he can continue to strive for a strong and inclusive society for all. |
