Emma Keeys

Secretary & Aide de Camp

From spending my late teens in the Six Bells to raising my family here, Chiddingly has been home for many, many years now.

After supporting our Commander in Chief last year in my Aide-de-Camp role as second in command on our night, I have taken up the mantel of Secretary.
The best thing about bonfire is that it's something the whole family can get involved with from the 5 year old to the 16 year old and they all love it.

I particularly enjoy creating our pioneer costumes and have an unhealthy interest in 18th century working class clothing! Some might say I spend a great deal of spare time obsessively sewing stays and bedgowns...and they'd be right. This year I'm hoping to hold some workshops as many of our other members have shown a great interest in creating these costumes that you just cannot buy. It's all part of the fun of bonfire and very satisfying to wear garments created by your own hands.

I love our bonfire family and feel that it is extremely important to keep this wonderful Sussex tradition alive.
