From spending my late teens in the Six Bells to raising my family here, Chiddingly has been home for many, many years now. It's fantastic to have a resurrected bonfire society in the village to uphold the wonderful Sussex traditions and I'm very proud of the way C.P.B.S has gone from strength to strength over the last few years.

The best thing about bonfire is that it's something the whole family can get involved with from the 5 year old to the 16 year old and they all love it. Much better than a night in front of the TV! One of the aspects of bonfire I enjoy the most is creating the costumes. From knitting to sewing I can usually be found with a needle of some sort in my hand fashioning jumpers, corsets, skirts and cloaks.
After supporting our Commander in Chief last year in my Aide-de-Camp role as second in command on our night, I have taken on the mantel of Secretary. I love our bonfire family and feel that it is extremely important to keep this wonderful Sussex tradition alive. |
