From spending my late teens in the Six Bells to raising my family here, Chiddingly has been home for many, many years now. It's fantastic to have a resurrected bonfire society in the village to uphold the wonderful Sussex traditions and I'm very proud of the way C.P.B.S has gone from strength to strength over the last few years.

The best thing about bonfire is that it's something the whole family can get involved with from the 4 year old to the 16 year old and they all love it. Much better than a night in front of the TV! One of the aspects of bonfire I enjoy the most is creating the costumes. From knitting to sewing I can usually be found with a needle of some sort in my hand fashioning jumpers, corsets, skirts and cloaks.
My main role is the Aide-de-Camp where I assist our Commander-in-Chief with all the responsibilities that go with running our bonfire event as the second in command on our night. For the rest of the year I can be found planning and running fundraising events with the committee. Another part of my role is to build and maintain the society's website, if you have any suggestions for something you'd like us to include on the site just let me know. |
