Whilst looking to buy our joint home in Chiddingly, my husband and I commented that the only thing stopping the Village being completely perfect was the lack of Bonfire Society ... so we were thrilled when, not more than a few weeks after we relocated to the village, we saw a notice on Social Media that some local residents were reinstating the former Society... and was anyone else interested in joining, and being on the committee. We joined immediately and then, having worked in finance my whole career, and following the reluctant resignation of our founder treasurer due to family commitments, I put myself forward for the position of Treasurer... and that brings us to today.
I'm also a member of two other local societies, and support those where I can, but CPBS is always my priority. I don't actually possess a smugglers guernsey so am usually dressed in a pioneers costume... this year I'm busily creating a new outfit for our 2nd pioneers theme... The Wars of the Roses! |
